Today was the first day in what feels like forever that I had nothing on my to-do list. Clinton suggested we get dirt and finally put plants in the raised beds. So that's what we did. Clinton lugged giant bags of yummy dirt up the stairs to our backyard. I planted the plants. It's a little late in the season to be just starting this planting, but hopefully some of the fruits and veggies will survive the summer heat. Between the drip irrigation system I put in and hand-watering (with water from our rain barrels), our little victory garden just might make it. We now have: tomatoes, pole beans, red onions, yellow onions, broccoli, carrots, strawberry, and romaine lettuce.
I, of course, ended up with dirt all over me, while Clinton stayed looking cool as a cucumber.
