The bees from the tree didn't want to stay in the box. They seem committed to staying in the tree. Clinton is going to try to move them into a new box another time. He leaves for Japan on Wednesday, and I'm not qualified to do it.
Clinton wanted to split the hive he's already got, since it was getting so big. This was my first time helping him. It was awesome. The suit was sized XL, so Clinton had to tie me into it so I wasn't a complete marshmallow.
Hopefully soon we'll have two flourishing hives. Seeing the honey up close made me want to stick my little tongue inside. I don't think the bees would have liked that.
This weekend, we also finally installed our second rain barrel. We already have about 50 gallons of rainwater stored from just one rainy day. After the next rain, whenever that may be, we should have almost 100 gallons. The rainwater will be really good for watering in the garden during the hot summer months.
